You've read her book -
Soft Tissue Release: Hands-on Guides for Therapists, so come and do her workshop.
Muscles often contain specific areas of tightness, perhaps due to fibrotic changes or to scar tissue, and massage alone does not always address these adequately. Soft Tissue Release (STR) is a deep tissue technique commonly used by sports masseurs to encourage tight fibres to stretch.
"I really enjoyed the STRworkshop, it was fab! Jane is a great tutor. I've been using STR for a while now in my practice but Jane showed me some brilliant new techniques and helped me to recognise some bad habits that i'd gotten into so the workshop was of huge benefit to me, thank you so much " Sam
“Just wanted to say thank you for the STR day! I learnt lots and really enjoyed the teaching”. Angela
What you’ll learn:
The big picture
With Jane Johnson, Chartered Physiotherapist, learn to apply STR to all the major muscles of the body through clothing and at the end of the day will incorporate STR into a lower limb massage routine.
We will practise the application of STR using your forearms, fists and elbows and learn the use the Straight Leg Raise Test to measure the effectiveness of this technique on hamstrings.
“Thanks for a great day on Sat. Found the course really beneficial for refreshing my skills and getting the confidence to work on other muscle groups I tended to avoid. It was great to have a teacher that was always gave positive feedback with no negative criticism! Makes a huge difference! I went home buzzing (normally really tired after a course!)” Clare
