Who's it for?

Accredited by both the CThA , FHT and STO - Advanced Training, 5 credits.

Anyone qualified, or about to qualify in massage or sports massage, looking to refresh and re-enforce their skills or learn new ones.

Attendees receive a comprehensive workbook and certificate of attendance and are informally assessed to ensure competency.

On this workshop Jane Johnson, Chartered Physiotherapist, will teach you safe and effective assessment skills plus a range of tip and tricks for working with clients affected by problems in this troublesome joint.

How to assess a shoulder
Key questions to ask your clients
Postural assessment relevant to the shoulder
How to identify key bony landmarks such as the coracoid process, AC joint, borders of the scapula, spine of the scapula, greater tubercle, lesser tubercle.
How to assess gross range of movement and accessory movements at the shoulder
How, when and why to load shoulder muscles

What you'll learn:

Common shoulder pathologies; identification, causes and suggested treatments for:
Adhesive Capsulitis (‘Frozen' shoulder)
Supraspinatus tendinopathies
Subacromial bursitis
Acromioclavicular ligament sprain
Rotator cuff strains
Stiff shoulder
