Who's it for?

Accredited by the FHT and STO - Advanced Training, 5 credits.

Any physical therapist feeling a little rusty or wanting to improve or gain confidence with their palpation skills. It's a particularly great day for newly qualified therapists who want to gain confidence in palpation skills. Participants should be aware that they will spend half of this half-day workshop blindfold!
 

Where you'll train
UKFor this workshop we’re at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO)Teaching Centre.

This is an ideal workshop to accompany the Mad About Muscles workshop or the unique Day in the Dissection Lab.

A comprehensive workbook accompanies the day and a certificate of attendance is awarded. Blindfolds are included!

What you'll learn:

On this 110% hands-on workshop Jane Johnson, Chartered Physiotherapist, will help you learn or revise bony landmarks, muscle origins and insertions.

We do not expect you to remember muscles, origins or insertions! That's what the workshop is all about - we are here to help!

On the day we will cover:
Names of bony landmarks
Palpating bony landmarks on a person
Palpating soft tissues
Identifying through palpation superficial muscles
Identifying through palpation high & low tone muscles
Identifying through palpation tendons of surface muscles
